About Godavari Drugs Ltd

Godavari Drugs (GD) is a drug manufacturing company with the main product being Sulphamethoxazole (SMX). In order to increase their SMX capacity from 540 tons per annum (tpa) to 720 tpa, the company is undertaking backward integration into the manufacture of 450 tpa drug intermediates Sulphamethoxide (SMO) and 750 tpa Diethyl Oxalate (DEO) as well as diversifying into 144 tpa Trimetroprim (TMP). Combining SMX and TMP provides treatment for a broader range of infections. GD also introduced Pyrazyamide (180 tpa) in 2000 and is now planning to increase its capacity, along with a new intermediate Cislactum for the production of anti anginal drug Diltiazem. All actions to increase value-addition are set to give GD profitable export demand.
