About GHCL Ltd

GHCL Limited (formerly Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited) is one of India’s leading manufacturers of Soda Ash Anhydrous Sodium Carbonate. It manufactures refined Sodium bicarbonate, marketed under the brand name 'Lion' and is used for various purposes. With captive limestone mines in Sutrapada Veraval and Talala Taluka in Gujarat, the company is mainly involved in two business segments including inorganic chemicals and home textiles. The plant capacity of soda ash is 9.75 lacs tpa along with 1.76 Lakh spindles and 3320 rotors and the home textiles facility in Jaipur comprising of 190 Air Jet looms, 12 million meter of weaving capacity and 30 million meter of cut and sew. With the Soda Ash Expansion program, the installed capacity has increased to 600000 MT and 64268 Nos respectively. In the financial year ended 31 March 2018, GHCL has achieved highest domestic sales of Soda Ash i.e. 8.47 lacs tons, new edible salt plant and buy back of 3156000 equity shares. GHCL has also unlocked value for shareholders by transferring its Home Textiles Business to Indo Count Industries Limited ICIL and by demerging its Spinning Division into a separate entity GHCL Textiles Limited, which is expected to be listed on the Stock Exchanges. Thus, GHCL Ltd. will have two listed entities- GHCL Limited and GHCL Textiles Limited.
