About FGP Ltd

Fibreglass Pilkington, formally known as Fibreglass UK and Bombay Company Pvt Ltd, was renamed in 1982 after the disinvestment of Pilkington UK, the ultimate holding company. FGP offers a range of fibreglass fibres used in a variety of industries, from agriculture to railways and boat building to oil. To increase its capabilities, the company acquired the glass division of CEAT in 1993. In order to fund modernisation, the company launched a rights issue in 1995 and in addition, issued Rs.7,50 crore of Non Convertible Debentures with institution and mutual funds. To enhance operations, the company also introduced a Business Centre in 2000 - 2001 and developed it into two phases.
