About Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd

The Dhampur Sugar Mills (DSML) was incorporated in May 33 and is presently under the management of V K Goel, the Chairman and Executive Director. This family owned business consists of the sugar unit at Dhampur with 12 lac tca of cane, another unit at Mansurpur with 5 lac tca of cane, a paper unit at Sikandrabad with 50 tpd, a DSM Chemicals plant at Dhampur and a Straw Board unit. DSML raised funds to set up one more sugar factory at Rouzagaon, Uttar Pradesh with an installed capacity of 4.5 lac tca of cane through a rights offer of PCDs. This factory adopted the conventional double sulphitation process, and the Dhampur sugar unit became the first private sector to generate surplus power from cogeneration, which was supplied to the state power grid. The company also launched Sulpher less Sugar in 1 Kg under the brand name of Dhampure in 200001. Currently, the company has two subsidiaries, namely DSM Sugar Kashipur and DSM Hitech Products, and is planning to partner with the Central Food and Technology Research Institution-Mysore to manufacture Xanthan from Sugar.
