About Banaras Beads Ltd

Banaras Beads (BBL) has been manufacturing glass beads and imitation jewellery, woollen products, handicrafts, silk and silk fabrics, fashion accessories and garments since 1980. It has modernised its computer facilities to introduce a state-of-the-art computer-aided designing system. The company went public in October 1994, with Ajit Kumar Gupta and Raj Kumar Gupta at the helm. BBL is now the largest exporter of glass beads in India with a market share of over 80%, and has exported to over 2000 clients in 50 countries since 1970. In August 1994, the government recognised BBL as a Trading House, and in February 1995 the company raised 35.6 crore to finance its expansion efforts. To further diversify its activities, BBL is now setting up a new glass-related manufacturing unit in the US and Canada as part of a joint venture.
