About Hindusthan National Glass & Industries Ltd

Established in the 1940s, Hindustan National Glass Industries (HNGL) is the largest glass container producer in India. The company diversified its status by acquiring mining rights for manufacturing polished granite slabs and tiles in Rajasthan and investing in an EOU. To accommodate the increasing packaging industry, one of the furnaces increased its capacity by 22,000 tonnes and two pharmaceutical production lines were fitted with electronics. Announced in 1995, HNGL took on expansion and modernisation of its plant by adding a new glass melting furnace with a 300 MT per day production capacity costing Rs. 35 crores. Glass bottles are exported to countries such as Bangladesh, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malayasia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Nigeria and Taiwan while HNGL is in talks with the UK, Germany and US for further export.
