About Aspinwall & Company Ltd

Aspinwall Co. Ltd. is a pioneering commercial enterprise, established by John H. Aspinwall in 1867 on the Malabar Coast of South India. The company began with shipping services and expanded its activities to timber, spices and agro products. After John's death in 1884, the company was taken up by his partner W.N. Black, and eventually became a public limited company in 1956, with the Travancore Royal Family taking part in its financial matters. In 2002, the company further diversified into Information Technology, Tourism, and Biotechnology, and in 2003 a modern International Business Process Outsourcing BPO centre was set up at Calvetty. With a history of over 150 years and activities in many sectors, Aspinwall Co. Ltd. is one of the oldest companies of the region, providing a range of services to the people of South India.
