About Zenith Steel Pipes & Industries Ltd

Zenith Steel Pipes Industries Ltd, formerly known as Zenith Birla India Ltd, is an Indian manufacturer of steel pipes. It has an extensive production capacity of 210,000 tonnes of ERW and SAW pipes and is engaged in the manufacture of HSS cutting tools for the auto/engineering industry. The company was established in 1960 and opened its pipes division in 1961 in Khopoli. A special steel division was started in 1974 while chemical and paper divisions opened in 1980 and 1981 respectively. In 1986, the company changed its name from Zenith Steel Pipes Industries Ltd to Zenith Ltd. In 2005, the company was renamed to Zenith Birla India Ltd and in 2010, its tooling business was demerged and merged with Birla Precision Technologies Ltd. The company's production was further increased to 210,000 tonnes through the merger of Tungabhadra Holdings Private Limited in 2010. In 2011, 2.16 crore bonus shares were issued and consequently listed on the National Stock Exchange of India. In 2013, Zenith Middle East LLC was incorporated as a fully-owned subsidiary in UAE.
