About Triveni Glass Ltd

Triveni Glass Ltd (TGL), formerly Triveni Sheet Glass Works, was established in Dec 71 and commenced business in Feb 72. Some of the major group companies include Hindustan Safety Glass and Uttar Pradesh Safety Glass. In Oct 94, they held a public issue of 16.62 lakh equity shares for their Indian public, worth Rs 17.31 cr, for the funding of their Rs 150 cr float glass project in Allahabad. Their main products include flat sheets and wired glass used in the automobile and construction industries. They have a technical collaboration with China’s CMIEC and have been regular exporters, having won the CAPEXCIL award for excellence in exports of glass for 4 years from 1988 to 1991. Unfortunately, due to losses and erosion of more than 50% of peak net worth between 1999 and 2000, the company made a reference to the BIFR. They were unable to fund a new project in 2000-2001 but started trial runs for reflective coating glass in June 2002.
