About Tamilnadu Steel Tubes Ltd

Tamilnadu Steel Tubes was incorporated in 1979 as a private limited company and subsequently converted to a public limited company in 1986. It was originally promoted to manufacture and trade in pipes and tubes such as electric resistance welded black pipes, galvanised pipes, precision pipes, scrap zinc and metal. In 1994, they expanded their capacity from 25,000 tonnes per annum to 35,000 tonnes through a maiden public issue of Rs 248 lakhs. In 1995, they started manufacturing and generating energy through wind mill. During 1992-2000, the company became a Sick Industrial Company and a case was heard in the BIFR which appointed Indian Bank as the operating agency.
