About Sunshield Chemicals Ltd

Sunshield Chemicals (SCL) is an Indian company established in 1986 as a private limited company. The company manufactures specialty chemicals used in industries like agrochemicals, fertilizers, paints, textiles, and petroleum. The company has increased its capacity to 4500 tPA with two takeovers of Dimple Chemicals and Services in 1994 and Kamal Chemical Industries in 1993. It also launched a backward integration-cum-diversification project in 1994 to produce 3000 tPA of alkyl phenols.
In 1995, SCL successfully launched two new range of products- an antioxidant based on Nonyl Phenol and Dodecy Phenol. It also produced a new product - Para Tertiary Butyl Phenol (PTBP) and Para Octyl Phenol (POP) and promoted an independent company, Sunshield Organics Ltd (SOL).
In 1998, SCL partnered with Schenectady International Inc., a leader in the manufacture of Alkyl phenols, to set up a globally accepted manufacturing facility. The company is gradually shifting its thrust to Niche Speciality Chemicals and recently launched a speciality Anti Oxidant which has been marketed by a global leader.
