SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited is a leading private sector non-banking finance company (NBFC) classified as an Infrastructure Finance Company by RBI. Incorporated in 1985, its main areas of operations include Fund based, Fee Based and Strategic investments, whose broad objectives are to actively participate in the nation building process. The company has gained immense expertise in financing of infrastructure construction, mining, oil & gas projects etc and has collaborated with various financial institutions including Larsen and Toubro Ltd, Telco, Hindustan Motors, FMO, DEG, HDFC Standard Life Insurance, RBI, CSE and NSE. In FY 2016, it acquired a 76% stake in HITVEL and has introduced two fixed deposit schemes in 2003 and has expanded across Russia in 2014. The company has recently launched India’s first Shariat compliant instrument with HSBC, bought back Long Term Infrastructure Bonds in 2016, divested its entire stake in Viom Networks in 2016 and achieved partial COD and commenced tolling in Ghaziabad Aligarh Expressway in 2016. In 2018, SREI embarked its subsidiary Srei Equipment Finance Limited’s Initial Public Offering and made an application for delisting their equity shares from CSE. In 2019, the board of directors approved a scheme of arrangement and amalgamation between the company and its subsidiaries with exchange ratios of 10: 21 for demerger 1 and 5:1 for demerger 2. Furthermore, they have decided to cancel 472827 forfeited equity shares, subject to shareholders’ approval.
