About Maris Spinners Ltd

Maris Spinners is a private limited company incorporated on 18 September 1979, manufacturing 100% cotton carded yarn of counts 30s and 40s for weaving, knitting, and handlooms. In March 1981, commercial production commenced at its spinning unit located in the Mysore district of Karnataka with an installed capacity of 11856 spindles. To keep up with various expansion and modernization programs, Maris Spinners set up two Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) at Muppandal, Tamil Nadu in 1994, and three more WTGs in March1995. To part finance it modernisation programme and to set up a second spinning unit at Manaparai, Tamil Nadu with a capacity of 14112 spindles, the company came out with a public issue in December 1995. The new spinning unit will take the total spinning capacity of Maris Spinners to 38784 spindles.
