About Marathon Nextgen Realty Ltd

Marathon Nextgen Realty Limited (formerly Piramal Spinning & Weaving Mills Limited) was incorporated in 1978 and is mainly engaged in the business of construction development and sale of residential and commercial real estate. Primarily, it manufactures cotton fabrics, synthetic fabrics, and cotton yarns from its factories in Lower Parel, Mumbai, Ambarnath (both in Maharashtra) and Surat in Gujarat. The company had completed the first phase of the modernisation project including new process house at Ambarnath at a cost of Rs. 372.26 lacs and in the 5th phase the company came out with a debenture issue. In Sep-92, Niranjan Mills was amalgamated with the company with retrospective effect and was sanctioned by BIFR. The assets & liabilities of both the company and the Mills were transferred to Niranjan Piramal Textile Mills Ltd. from Oct-2001. In 2003, the Marathon group infused additional capital and in 2007 the name of the Piramal Ltd. was changed to Marathon Nextgen Realty & Textiles Ltd. Subsequently, the share capital was reduced to Rs. 92.59 lacs and shareholders of the Piramal Ltd. were allotted one share in each of the 3 companies for every 3 shares held by them. The National Company Law Tribunal (Mumbai Bench) also sanctioned a Scheme of Merger in July-2018 and as a part of this, the Marathon IT Infrastructure Private Ltd. and Ithaca Informatics Private Ltd., were merged with the Marathon Realty Private Ltd. and the name of the Promoter Group changed to Marathon Realty Private Ltd. The company also acquired 100% stake in Marathon Nextgen Townships Pvt Ltd (MNTP) and Terrapolis Assets Pvt Ltd (TAPL). Further, Marathon acquired a 91% stake in Sanvo Resorts Pvt Ltd (SRPL).
