About M P Agro Industries Ltd

M P Agro Industries, formerly M P Agro Fertilisers, was incorporated in Dec. 1975 and began operations in Jul. 1976. The original investors included The M P State Agro Industries and Dharamsi Morarji Chemicals. In October 1991, Liberty Fertilisers/Dhamani group (which includes Sayaji Hotels) took over, and the company is now managed by chairman Abdul Razak D Dhamani. In 1993, a 5:1 rights issue of 23.4 lakh equity shares at par (totaling Rs 2.34 crore) was made to finance the cost of additional machinery, building and long-term working capital requirements. M P Agro Industries specializes in producing NPK granulated mixtures in the fertiliser sector. In 1999-2000, 30 lakhs equity shares of Rs 10 each were issued to promoters and associates as part of their additional working capital requirement.
