About Kokuyo Camlin Ltd

Camlin Corporation began in 1988, following the takeover of Dandekar Company. Initially manufacturing stationery items, it has since expanded into art supplies and pharmaceuticals. Camlin products are sold under the Camel and Camlin brands, with a broad range of items like fountain pen inks, pens, erasers, art materials, mathematical and biological instruments, bulk drugs, formulations, synthetic adhesives, and more. In March 1990, production of high polymer lead was started with the help of Japan's Pilot Corporation, making Camlin one of the few companies in the world offering this product. Additionally, in March 1996 it established a plant for industrial grade synthetic adhesives and a plant for bulk drugs and chemicals in 1995-96. In 1998-99, Rs. 750 lacs was raised from IDBI and used for various expenses. The Stationery and Art Material divisions merged into Consumer Products Division in April 1999, and a major expansion of the antioxidant range also happened in this same year. Camlin's products are exported worldwide, and it has entered in a marketing alliance with Colart Fine Art and Graphics UK.
