About Kaveri Seed Company Ltd

Kaveri Seed Company Limited, founded in 1986 by Mr. Gundavaram Venkata Bhaskar Rao, Mrs. Gundavaram Vanaja Devi and Mr. Rangineni Venu Manohar Rao is a public limited company based in Hyderabad. The company is engaged in the production and marketing of agriinputs, seeds of a variety of crops, micronutrients, bioproducts and organic products. It has set up several seed conditioning facilities and acquired M/s. Kaveri Agriteck in 2006. The company has taken capital allocation decision to buyback up to 2,962,963 equity shares of Rs.2 each, at a price of Rs.675 each for an aggregate consideration of Rs.200 crores through Stock Exchange Mechanism. The buyback (4.29 % of total issued and paid up equity share capital) is within the prescribed limit of 25 % of aggregate of the paid up capital and free reserves of the company. This decision taken with the objective to improve the company's Return on Equity and increase shareholder value in the longer term.
