Pantaloon Retail India Limited (PRIL) is a retail company founded in 1987, headquartered in Mumbai. It has stores in 51 cities, over 6000 square feet of retail space, 35 Pantaloons stores, 5 Central Malls, 78 Big Bazaar hypermarkets, 113 Food Bazaars and other delivery formats. They launched BARE, a jeans brand, in 1991 and an IPO in 1992.
John Miller formal shirt brand was launched in 1995 and Pantaloons in Kolkata in 1997. Big Bazaar, India's first hypermarket chain, was launched in 2001 and Food Bazaars a year later. In 2004 Central, the country's first seamless mall was launched. The same year, Fashion Station was launched followed by aALL for plus-size customers in 2005. In 2006, Future Capital Holdings launched their real estate funds Kshitij and Horizon and a private equity fund Indivision. Blue Foods Private Limited was the joint venture partner for setting up food courts and speciality restaurants in 2006. The company signed a $50M 5-year IT outsourcing contract with Wipro Infotech in 2008. Pantaloon launched TASHAN Collection across their 40 stores as film merchandise the same year.
