About Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) Ltd

Goetze India Ltd. (GIL), a joint venture between Federal Mogul and Escorts, is one of the leading manufacturers of Automotive Piston Rings in the world. With a production capacity of 50 million piston rings and over 8 million pistons per year, GIL has become the largest producer of Piston Assemblies after the takeover of Escorts Mahle Ltd in 2002. Back in 1957, the company’s first plant was set up in Patiala, and since then, the company has diversified its business to include auto accessories, solvent extraction, and leather garments. In 2015-16, GIL acquired a 26% stake in Real Captive Power Private Limited (RCP) and disposed of the investment to Surakshath Build Well (LLP) on 30 March 2016 as part of the restructuring process. The company is now focusing on providing piston rings according to the new emission norms and is looking forward to becoming a global source of piston rings.
