About DCM Ltd

DCM Ltd is an old company established in 1889 which has grown into a diversified player with presence in spinning yarn, textiles, rayon tyre cord, sugar, alcohol, confectionery, heavy chemicals, fertilizers, electronic desk calculators, mini computers, etc. In April 1990, the company was restructured into 4 companies – DCM, DCM Shriram Industries, DCM Shriram Consolidated and Shriram Industries Enterprises. To expand its business, it raised funds through a rights issue in Feb. 1993. During 1999-97, the company increased the installed capacity of Alloy Iron/ SG Iron Castings by 15000 TPA, started construction of a self-contained residential complex and a modern non-polluting factory, and increased the installed capacity of spindles to 37348. In 1997-99, it was awarded the ISO 9002 certificate making it the first spinning mill in northern India. The company also hived off its DCM Engineering Products division into a separate company and amalgamated its DCM Data Systems subsidiary with itself.
