About Bharat Seats Ltd

Bharat Seats BSL, a joint venture between Maruti Udyog MUL and Indian entrepreneurs, is pioneer in car seat manufacture in the organised sector. Technical assistance is provided by Houwa Kogyo Co Japan who is also the main supplier of seats to Suzuki Motors. The manufacturing plant is based in Gurgaon, Haryana. To adjust to the comfort and safety aspects of driving, BSL has implemented design and raw material improvements in their products, such as ficon free material per EEC regulations. The company also released a public issue in 1988 to set up its manufacturing facilities to produce seat sets for vehicles such as the Gypsy, Omni and Zen. With the technical help of M/s Houwa Kogyo Co., Ltd., BSL has developed a seat sets for Maruti's latest vehicle CarAlto. Bharat Seats BSL is the sole ancillary unit of MUL for the production of seat sets.
