About Wheels India Ltd

Wheels India was established by the TVS Group in the early 1960s as a vehicle wheel manufacturing company. With a 35.91 equity stake held by Dunlop Holdings UK, the company has grown into a leading manufacturer of steel wheels for passenger cars, utility vehicles, trucks, buses, agricultural tractors and construction equipment. Operating plants in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, Chennai and Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu, and Pune in Maharashtra, the company is able to meet two-thirds of the Indian market requirement and export 15% of its turnover to North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and South Africa. An in-house process for manufacturing 3-piece earthmover wheels has been developed which has allowed Wheels India to supply Caterpillar’s European operations. With a successful quality certification of TS 16949:2002 in 2005, the company has increased its production capacity from 7,064,000 numbers to 7,100,000 in the following year. Wheels India is also in experience a technical-financial agreement with Titan Europe and is certified by QS 9000.
