About Welcast Steels Ltd

Established in 1972, Welcast Steels WSL is a leading manufacturer of grinding media with an installed capacity of 9000 tons per annum (tpa) for castings and 1000 tpa for ingots and buds. Vinod Narain is the chairman, who during 9697 upgraded the company’s heat treatment technology. It entered into a technical collaboration with Magotteaux International Belgium to produce grinding media of an international standard for the mining industry and thereby increased its exports. The company was awarded ISO 9002 Certification from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance in 19992000. To further develop new grades of grinding media for a wider application, as well as to improve the manufacturing process and productivity, the company is planning to introduce fresh technology. Additionally, Welcast Steels WSL is looking to install a captive power plant of 5.1 MVA to meet the energy needs.
