About V-Mart Retail Ltd

VMart Retail Ltd is an Indian value retail chain, operating across the country in TierII, TierIII and Metro cities as standalone stores. Established in 2002, the company opened its first store in 2003 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and currently runs 62 stores in 53 cities across 10 states and union territories, covering 5.06 lakh sq. ft. Originally incorporated as Varin Commercial Private Limited in 2002, the company became VMart Retail Private Limited in 2006, and subsequently VMart Retail Limited in 2008. In 2013, VMart's initial public offer was subscribed 1.19 times, and since then it has established more stores in states such as UP, Bihar, Punjab, and Maharashtra, among others. Most recently, VMart acquired 74 stores and 1 warehouse from Arvind Fashions in 2022, and launched a new marketing property ‘Fashion Ka Pyar Har Tyohar’ in 2021, among other initiatives. It has now opened 279 stores across the country, covering 18 lakh sq. ft. of space.
