About Sundaram Brake Linings Ltd

Sundaram Brake Linings Limited (SBLL) is one of India’s leading manufacturers of automotive and industrial friction materials, mainly in the form of brake linings for automobiles, commercial vehicles, jeeps, scooters, and tractors. Established in 1974, the company has made significant advances in its product range, becoming the first Indian company to manufacture asbestos-free brake linings. The company has presence beyond India, exporting to developed countries since 1978, and newer destinations such as Chile, Hungary, Mexico and Venezuela in 2001. Corporate awards such as the National Award for Technology Development (1990) and the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India’s (ACMA) Productivity Award (1998-99) have added to the company’s prestige. With capacity enhancement units in Padi (Chennai) and Madurai, and the newly launched TSK Puram manufacturing plant for asbestos-free products in 1997, plus its success in the Deming Application Prize in 2001, Sundaram Brake Linings is now in an even stronger position to serve its customers.
