Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (“SPARC”) is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on innovation and new product development for global markets. Established in 2006, it is engaged in the creation of new drugs and delivery systems, undertaking projects in research and technology for new chemical entities (“NCEs”) and novel drug delivery systems (“NDDS”). SPARC operates in global markets including the US, India and China. It has successfully received approvals from the US FDA for various drugs such as ELEPSIA XR Levetiracetam extended-release tablets 1000 mg and 1500 mg, XELPROS Latanoprost BAKfree eyedrops and for XELPROS latanoprost ophthalmic emulsion 0.005 which was inlicensed from Sun Pharma in 2015. In 2021, it commenced the commercialization of ElepsiaTM XR to Visiox Pharma, with eligible milestone payments and royalties and acquired exclusive rights for antibody against a unique oncology target from Biomodifying. SPARC is focused on advancement of clinical trials with vodobatinib being granted orphan drug designation for the treatment of CML and it has completed phase I study of SCD044.
