About Standard Industries Ltd

Standard Industries Limited (formerly known as Standard Mills Company Limited) was founded in 1892 and is part of the Stanrose Group since 1979. It is involved in the manufacture of textiles, chemicals and garments as well as property and trading. SIL has released a rights issue of 1.12 cr equity shares at a premium of Rs 50 per share raising Rs 67.42 to finance modernisation and pay down high cost borrowings. SIL also has a subsidiary, Standard Salt Works, and a joint venture, Mafatlal Lubricants, with Motul France. In recent years the company has focused on rationalizing and integrating its textile activities while in 20002001 a voluntary retiral scheme was introduced. During 200607 the company became the sole shareholder of Standard Salt Works. In 2006 the chemical unit was closed and the leasehold land and power substation attached was later sold for Rs 427.33 crores in March 2022.
