About Sharda Ispat Ltd

Sharda Ispat is a public limited company that was incorporated as Sharda Industries Engineering Works Pvt Ltd in Sep 60. It produces hot rolled products of all grades and operates two units; one at Hingna, with an installed capacity of 25000 tpa, and one at Kamptee Road with 35000 tpa. In 1995-96, Sharda Ispat came out with a public issue of 1,950,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each to expand and modernise the units. However, due to a general slow down in the economy and a decline in the demand for steel during 1999, the company has been declared sick and has made reference to the Board of Industrial and Financial Reconstruction for rehabilitation. The company is now waiting for the measures to be implemented so that it can regain its position within a short period.
