About Ortel Communications Ltd

Ortel Communications Ltd. is a regional service provider focused in India states of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. The company has a State-of-Art two-way communication network for Triple Play services and provides services including digital cable TV, broadband, VAS services, leasing of fibre infrastructure and signal up linking services. During the year ended 31 March 2015, Ortel allotted 14497774 0.001 compulsorily convertible preference shares which got converted into 1035555 equity shares. During the same year, Ortel held a dominant position in Odisha and had a fast-growing presence in 5 other markets. They have a legal Right of Way for laying network cable and are capable of providing bandwidth of up to 100 Mbps and leased out a total of 761.42 kms as on 31 March 2015. Ortel went public in March 2015 and after Final rejection of the applications, 9593850 shares were allotted at a price of Rs 181 per share. Ortel continued to be a dominant player in the Cable TV Market in Odisha and other emerging markets and successfully implemented DOCSIS 3.0 technology by the year 2017. During the financial year ended 31 March 2018, the company had 766980 cable customers, a 2% growth from the previous year. Furthermore, the company incorporated Ortel Broadband Ltd as its wholly-owned subsidiary to provide internet services.
