About Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd

Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd (OMDC) was incorporated in 1956 and is one of the oldest mining companies in India. It is a Government of India Enterprise engaged in the exploration, exploitation, processing, and marketing of iron ore, manganese ore, and other minerals.

OMDC operates in four main lines of business: mining, beneficiation, pelletization, and marketing. The company has two main products: iron ore and manganese ore.

OMDC is one of the largest producers of iron ore in India and its iron ore is used in steel making across the country. It is also one of the largest exporters of manganese ore in India, with its manganese ore being exported to countries such as Japan, China, South Korea, and Taiwan. In addition to its two main products, OMDC also produces other minerals such as bauxite, limestone, and chromite. It has also ventured into the production of pellets, which are used in the steel making process.
