About Kesar Enterprises Ltd

Kesar Enterprises KEL, formerly known as The Kesar Sugar Works, is a production company belonging to the Kilachand Devchand group. Established in August 33, it specializes in the production of Sugar, Spirit, Ethanol, Bagasse-based Power, Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). It also provides large storage installations for handling bulk cargo and has two subsidiaries - Amber Distilleries and Kesar Marble & Granites. In September 92, a rights issue consisting of 28,94,000 shares of Rs. 30 each aggregated to Rs. 8.68 cr was issued to finance the modernisation and expansion of the company’s distillery. On 11 July 2002, Kesar Marble & Granites ceased to be a subsidiary of KEL. In July 2006, the company sold its entire investment of 1,40,000 equity shares of Amber Distilleries Ltd. (ADL) to raise Rs. 120 lacs, along with repayment of interest-free loan of Rs. 50 lacs. In 2008, Kesar Terminals & Infrastructure Ltd. (KTIL) was incorporated as KEL’s wholly- owned subsidiary. KTIL was used for transferring the company’s storage division to their subsidiary in 2009, and 4,753,113 equity shares of Rs. 10 each were allotted to KEL shareholders. In July 2012, the 44 MW bagasse-based cogeneration power plant at Baheri UP was completed and commercial operations began in October 2012. In 2013, the company merged its Agrotech division into the Seed division.
