About Kerala Ayurveda Ltd

Kerala Ayurvedic Pharmacy has become a leader in the field of ayurvedic medicines with traditional speciality medicines Tussnil Liposem and Mathrukalpam thanks to its parent companies Kerala Pharmacy and Pensen Drugs & Pharmaceuticals that were merged in 1992. It has undertaken a 7 crore expansion-cum-diversification program to develop a fully integrated health care system, cultivate medicinal plants and market ayurvedic medicines as well as a new hospital. It has acquired a modern facility in Athani, Near Alwaye to manufacture patent medicines, tablets, capsules, and syrups. There are also 12 clinics spread across Kerala and other states including Bombay, Madras, Bangalore, and Mangalore. Kerala Ayurvedic has also won the approval of Karnataka Tourism Department to open a health resort at Bangalore for high income segment tourists and NRIs. Its 75 franchisees and 400 stockists enable a well-entrenched presence in different states. During 19992000 the company exported medicines worth Rs.56.43 lakhs to countries such as USA, UK, Italy, Malaysia, Holland, and Japan. It also redesigned four products and is planning to develop new methods for rare medicinal plants using biofertilizers. In addition, its Ayurvedic Health Resort in Bangalore that opened in March 2001 saw a positive response in its trial run.
