About Hind Rectifiers Ltd

Hirect, a leading manufacturer of rectifier equipment, semiconductor devices, and products for railways AC electric locomotives and AC electrical multiple units, has signed a technical collaboration agreement with Friem Italy and has received orders from Sterlite Industries Chemfab Chlorates, Sree Rayalaseema Alkalies, and Chemicals. With Electric Research and Development Centre Kerala, Hirect has also signed a technical collaboration agreement to produce transistorised PWM AC drives and has an agreement with Powersem Germany for Isopack bridges. Future plans include signing a technical collaboration agreement with Chittaranjan Locomotive Works for transfer of technology for auxiliary converters. Hirect also has an RD department recognized by the government of India that is working on developing traction rectifiers for diesel locomotives and 5400KVA loco transformers. In pursuit of the ISO9002 certificate, Hirect has appointed the National Productivity Council for improvements. This period (1995-2000) saw the successful manufacture and supply of high-current water-cooled rectifiers, Isopack bridges, and a new 180KVA converter from Indian Railways for Rs. 3 crores. It was also the period where Hirect merged with Supreme Powertronics Private Ltd.
