About Fortis Malar Hospitals Ltd

Fortis Malar Hospital Limited, formerly known as Malar Hospital Limited, was established in April 13, 1989 to provide multispecialty healthcare services. With 160 beds including 40 ICU/CCU/RTU beds, it offers services in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Pediatrics, Diabetics, Nephrology and Internal Medicine. Under the second phase of the project, the number of beds will increase to 250 beds at a cost of Rs 2120 lacs. The hospital’s success is bolstered by its famed consultant, Dr. K M Cherian, the winner of Padmashree award, who has conducted over 26,200 cardio thoracic cases including infant heart surgery, heart transplants, paediatric heart transplants and heart and lung transplants. On 7th September 2007, the company’s promoters sold 3900000 equity shares and on 18th February 2008, acquired by International Hospital Ltd and Oscar Investments Ltd. In 2009, the company incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary and on 19th August 2016, a Composite Scheme of Arrangement and Amalgamation between the company and its two friends was approved. On 13th November 2018, the Subscription Agreement with Northern TK Venture Pte Ltd was executed, making them the controlling shareholder of FHL.
