About Benares Hotels Ltd

Benares Hotels Limited (BHL) was founded in 1971 by Vibhuti Narayan Singh and provides hotel services in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The company underwent a project to provide a restaurant and bar for the hotel in 1994, along with additional expansion plans currently in progress. Despite the plague epidemic impacting tourism in India in 1995, BHL achieved improved working figures of 11.6% revenue increase. The hotel is located close to many temples increasing its convenience for foreign tourists. It has a banquet hall, pool and well-maintained garden for its guests. During 1998-99, BHL declared a dividend of 60 to shareholders and earned foreign exchange earnings of Rs. 9.74 crores. The performance in terms of occupancy and total room realisation improved along with higher F&B revenue providing a 6% increase in the profit after tax.
