The founders are Robert Kalin, Haim Schoppik, Jared Tarbell, and Chris Maguire. Etsy has revolutionised small businesses, giving them much-needed independence and global access. Their primary market is the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and India. Etsy acquired Reverb for $275 million in July 2019. It operated the online marketplaces Etsy.com and Reverb.com, offering nearly 85 million retail items. It also provides a payment processing service by Etsy Payments, useful for sellers on the platform. Etsy Ads (an advertising platform) and Etsy Shipping Labels, Etsy Inc positions itself throughout the ecosystem to facilitate smoother sales. Etsy Shipping Labels offers discounted shipping labels to sellers in the USA, Canada, UK and Australia. Extending to tech-enabled services, Etsy offers a wide range of tools through its platforms like the Shop Manager dashboard, a centralised hub for Etsy sellers to track, manage and view their orders, inventory and other essential metrics. Sellers can also have conversations with customers through this platform and review vital statistics that enable growth. With the onset of the global pandemic, Etsy issued calls to sellers to make cloth face masks, resulting in 24 million sales and 11% of gross-merchandise sales in the third quarter of 2020. In June 2021, Etsy acquired fashion resell app Depop for $1.63 billion. Currently Etsy Inc has a market cap of $5.57 Billion. It has a P.E ratio of 40.58.
