Read MoreFounded in 1989, Accenture Plc is a Fortune 500 company that specialises in offering management and technology consulting services and solutions worldwide. It has built its business in different verticals such as automotive, banking, capital markets, chemicals, and agribusiness industries. The business of the company is divided into four main segments: Strategy and Consulting, Interactive (Digital), Technology and Operations. Formerly known as Anderson Consulting, the company started as a business and technology consulting division within Arthur Andersen, an American accounting firm. They split later and in 2001, Anderson Consulting became Accenture. The company has clients in more than 120 countries across the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Being a lead contractor for HealthCare.gov in 2014, an Electronic Health Records Contract in 2015 as well as an iOS business software creation partnership with Apple played crucial roles in the company's success. Later on, the company made several strategic acquisitions. In 2020, Accenture acquired Symantec, a cybersecurity company apart from Callisto Integration, a provider of consulting and technology services and also Byte Prophecy, a data analytics firm. In the same year, Accenture introduced a division known as Accenture Cloud First. To support this, the company made other acquisitions like Imaginea Technologies, Infinity Works, and Cygni. The company is now moving toward sustainable growth. As part of this plan, the company has already acquired a services firm, Zestgroup. It specialises in energy transitions, carbon-neutral projects, and the procurement of renewable energy. By 2025, the company plans to become a zero carbon-emission organisation. Additionally, they plan to recycle 100% of their waste as well as reduce water usage in all of their facilities. Currently Accenture Plc has a market cap of $210.47 Billion.
