About NHPC Ltd

National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), established in 1975, is a leading public sector enterprise in India’s clean energy landscape, with a presence across 15 states and 2 Union Territories. 

NHPC generates and supplies clean electricity, primarily through hydropower, and is expanding into solar, wind, and pumped storage. It follows an integrated model covering the entire project lifecycle, from planning to operations, and also trades electricity, supplying power to distribution companies (DISCOMs) across India. Additionally, it offers consultancy services to other entities in the power sector and is expanding into international renewable energy markets.

NHPC contributes 16% of India’s hydropower capacity, with 7,771 MW out of 47,928 MW installed, positioning it as a key driver of the nation’s clean energy transition.

NHPC fully commissioned the 800 MW Parbati-II Hydroelectric Project in April 2025, making it the company’s largest operational power station to date. NHPC is also overseeing 6,400 MW of awarded renewable energy projects and managing another 14,780 MW in the pipeline as a power project facilitator. 

NHPC’s CAPEX increased by 34% from ₹11,596 crore in FY24 to ₹13,052 crore in FY25, reflecting strong investment in clean energy infrastructure
