The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) plans to offer a dozen bundles of stretches for bid by private companies through the Toll Operate Transfer (ToT) model, aiming to achieve a target of Rs 54,000 crore for monetisation this financial year. Last year's four asset bundles fetched NHAI Rs 15,968 crore. The FY25 target is set at Rs 80,000 crore, with Rs 8,000 expected from project-based financing and Rs 46,000 crore from ToT and Infrastructure Investment Trust.
National Highway Construction May Slow Down in 2024-25 - 03 May, 2024
Two rating agencies, CareEdge and India Ratings and Research, expect the pace of constructing national highways to slow down in 2024-25. However, ICRA expects construction to increase due to a robust order pipeline. CareEdge predicts around 11,100-11,500 km of national highways will be constructed in 2024-25, while India Rating and Research estimates it to be lower at around 11,250 km.
