Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) is a renowned telecommunications service provider in India which began operations in 1986 with the aim of upgrading the quality of telecom services and introducing new services. Since then, the company has implemented state-of-the-art technology and adopted a customer-friendly approach for their growth. It offers various telecommunication services like telephone, telex, wireless data communication, Internet, etc. and was responsible for introducing the first digital exchange in the country. MTNL also provided popular services such as Phone Plus, Voice Mail, ISDN services, Wireless in Local Loop, and a toll-free customer service line. In 2000, Millennium Telecom Limited was set up as a wholly-owned subsidiary of MTNL to provide value-added services. Other services by MTNL include GSM Cellular Mobile service, Wireless in Local Loop Mobile services under Garuda, Internet Network of Networks, Interactive Voice Response System, Online bill presenting, and prepaid GSM Mobile services. Moreover, it has set up a Joint Venture company in Nepal and a software venture called ComSoft in 2002. Through its innovation and commitment, the company has maintained its leadership and aims to expand its services as a global player.
