Increase in net income - The company reported a total income of Rs 693.12 crore for the quarter ended December. Sequentially, the total income increased by 6.97%. In the July-Sep period, the total income was Rs 647.96 crore. During the December quarter last year, the net income was Rs 528.33 crore, a rise of 31.19% YoY.

The revenue from Pig Iron Segment was Rs 534.85 crore and from Ductile Iron Pipe the revenue was Rs 331.94 crore.

Net profit decline - The net profit has declined drastically both in QoQ and YoY terms. Sequentially, the net profit has fallen from Rs 54.62 crore in Q2FY22 to Rs 35.65 crore in Q3FY22, a decline of 34.73%. In the same period last year, the profit was Rs 75.18 crore, so the company reported a decline of 52.58% in net profit YoY.

EPS Decline - The EPS has declined 34.73% sequentially from Rs 17.3 in Q2 to Rs 11.29 in the December quarter.

Tata Metaliks Results: Review

The company's topline increased both sequentially and YoY, however, the bottom line has dropped significantly. The major reason for the decline in profits has been the fall in the price of its products in both segments. The share price has fallen by 4.2% in the early hours of Friday morning and is trading at Rs 882 per share.
