The NSE operates and provides seamless trading facilities throughout the year. The normal trading session for equities and equity derivatives on NSE starts at 9:15 AM and ends at 3:30 PM, providing a trading session of 6 hours and 15 minutes. The NSE, however, remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Besides, there are also a number of NSE trading holidays that are declared or announced by the exchange in advance. Commodity Derivatives Trading on NSE
NSE also has a Commodity Derivatives segment that offers trading in Futures. The instruments available for traders are Bullion and Energy Futures. Futures of a total of 5 commodities are available to trade on NSE- Brent Crude Oil, Copper, Degummed Soy Oil, Gold, and Silver.
Just like Equities, trading in commodity derivatives also happens all days of the week, except Saturdays and Sundays and the holidays announced by the NSE.

Muhurat trading is a special trading session conducted by NSE on Diwali. It is taken as an auspicious trading hour to start a new investment journey or to buy equities for long term investment. The NSE announces hours for Muhurat trading in advance. In 2022, the Muhurat trading will be done on 24 October, 2022 (Diwali). The trading timings for Muhurat trading will be announced by NSE later.
